Responsible use
For lawful research and authorized casework.
Second Trace is a documentation and analysis instrument. It does not investigate people; it organizes information about events, and it is designed so that no conclusion can outrun its evidence.
What the product will not do
- It will not determine guilt, rank suspects, or score danger.
- It will not identify unknown faces, track people in real time, or locate private individuals.
- It will not convert allegations, testimony, or inferences into facts.
- It will not access restricted systems, bypass paywalls, or scrape access-controlled services.
- It will not publish, accuse, or contact anyone on your behalf.
What the product requires of you
- Lawful basis for the material you organize and the steps you plan.
- Neutral description of people unless an authoritative source establishes a role.
- Human verification of every AI-generated finding before it informs decisions.
- Respect for the consent, retention, and deletion controls of the workspace.
Built-in guardrails
The presumption of innocence is displayed on every case and enforced structurally: claim types are preserved through analysis and export, disputed accounts are never merged, AI output is always labeled, and sensitive actions require elevated roles, confirmation, and audit.
